How to fix the clSetKernelArg (-48) Fatal error issue

⚠️ Note that this fix only applies to versions earlier than 2.1.0 of the desktop mining app. If you are running into this issue it would be a better idea to update your desktop mining app to the latest version! ⚠️

If your mining app never starts and you have seen in your miner logs the following error message:

GPU: clSetKernelArg (-48) Fatal error detected

You can fix it by adding a custom parameter to your mining process (version 1.1.0-beta):

1. Go to the mining screen, and open Advanced Settings (the icon next to Starting / Stop button).
2. Select Custom and add the parameter -clKernel 0
3. Save & restart the mining process!

That will fix the issue 🙂

If you are not using our app, you must add it to your PhoenixMiner bat file or command line.
