Creating a Metamask wallet

Metamask is a decentralized crypto wallet and gateway to blockchain apps that allows you to buy, store, send and swap tokens, with the advantage of having full control of your private key giving a higher level of security and privacy for your transactions.

In order to create a Metamask wallet, the first thing you'll need to do is to install the app on the supported device of your preference; as mentioned on their website: iOS, Android and some well known browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Brave and Microsoft Edge).

Once you have selected your platform, click the "Install Metamask for …" button, the following screen will then appear to start the setup of your wallet:

As it is your first time using Metamask, you will select the "Create a Wallet" option.

Then, you will be landed to a "Help us improve Metamask" screen, this terms are optional and the purpose is to collect usage data to better understand how users interact with the extension and improve the user experience with this information.

You must create a password, minimum of 8 characters to keep secure your wallet and accept the Terms of Use to continue.

A screen will then appear to show your Secret Recovery Phrase, it comprises 12 random words to import your wallet in cases like loss access to your main device.

Be sure to write it on a piece of paper or other physical form, all digital formats stored in your phone or computer could be accessible to hackers.

This secret phrase will be never requested for websites (and definitely not us) for mining, process transactions, create accounts or connect your wallet.

Finally, just select the words in the correct order and click on "Confirm" to continue.

Congratulations!

Now you can use Metamask to storage your favorite crypto currencies and receive your payments whenever you reach the payment thresholds of the coin you are mining with us. 🙂
